Gears 5: Does Carmine Survive or Die? Answered (Spoilers)

Gears 5 brings a whole new chapter to the story of war between mankind and the Locusts/Swarm. And, of course, that means that there’s a new opportunity for a Carmine to be killed, because it’s series tradition and all the rest of it. As such, some players may be wondering if Clayton Carmine, and Lizzie Carmine survive or die in Gears 5.

Do the Carmines Survive in Gears 5? Answered

As we’ve noted above, there are actually two different members of the Carmine family name in Gears 5. Lizzie Carmine and Clayton Carmine are both Gears within the Coalition of Ordered Governments’ army, wearing the classic helmet and all. Unsurprisingly, the two have different fates.

Lizzie’s Fate in Gears 5

Lizzie is the unlucky one in Gears 5, and following a plan-gone-wrong courtesy of JD Fenix himself, she ends up getting trapped in a vehicle and being eviscerated by the Hammer of Dawn. This happens right at the end of Act 1, so it doesn’t take all that long to see our first Carmine fall.

Does Clayton Carmine Survive?

Well, there’s finally some good news for the family, as Clayton Carmine can actually still be seen and heard helping out right until the very end of the game’s campaign in Act 4 Chapter 2 in the final boss fight. He doesn’t even die during that, so he may be the one to break the family curse.

Who are we kidding, he’ll probably die in Gears 6.
