How to Get Components in Gears 5

Let’s get one thing perfectly clear before we go any further. Gears 5 has a metric ton of components lying around its map. Over 150 in total throughout the course of the campaign. As such, while you may want to get them all, chances are you won’t need them all to upgrade Jack the way you want.

To give you a helping hand, however, we’ve included a chunk of the components locations we found during Gears 5’s Act 1 to give you a head start.

  9. Chapter 4 #4

After entering the theater, head upstairs and into the dressing room on the left. Take the first door on the right and zoom in on the component on the shelf at the back. Press X when aiming at it to get Jack to grab it for you.

Once you’ve taken down the corrupted DeeBees and DR-1 on the stage in the theater, head out through the double doors and look for the electrical room just before the stairs. There’s another component in the yellow box on the wall.Gears 5 component locations

As we noted above, this isn’t an extensive list of all the components you can find in Gears 5, but 10 should be enough to get you a few early upgrades and get you used to what you’re looking out for.

What Components Are Used For in Gears 5

As we mentioned earlier, components are the collectible item you’ll need to find literally lying all over the place in Gears 5’s world to upgrade Jack’s abilities. He now has new Support, Assault , and Passive abilities which can be upgraded to make him far more useful as an assistant in combat.

Once you’ve got a component, press the View button (to the left of the big Xbox button) to open the Jack menu. From here, you can select any of Jack’s abilities you’ve unlocked and press X to open its upgrades. Press and hold A on the one you want to purchase and that’s all there is to it.
