Final Fantasy XIV Expansion Shadowbringers Gets Release Date, Gunbreaker Job, and Crazy Trailer

Today, Square Enix hosted the opening keynote of the Final Fantasy XIV FanFest in Paris, France focusing on the upcoming expansion, Shadowbringers.

During the keynote, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida introduced an absolutely crazy cinematic teaser trailer of the expansion. You can see it at the bottom of the post both in English and in Japanese.

At the end of the trailer, we learned the release date of the expansion: July 2, 2019.

We also learn that there will be multiple new jobs, and the first one has been unveiled.

It’s the “Gunbreaker,” a tank wearing a gunblade. It’ll be different from those used by the Garlean Empire and closer to the original ones used in Final Fantasy XIV.

It has no starting class, and will tentatively require and start at level 60. Below you can check out the slides mentioning a few relevant facts.
