If you’re unfamiliar with the title, it was announced before Tokyo Game Show, and it’s the remake of Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon, which was released between 2007 and 2008 for Wii and Nintendo DS.

We get to see new renditions of familiar characters and a relevant new addition, Alpha from Final Fantasy XIV’s Omega raid storyline. He is a playable job in the game, and an all-rounder that can perform both attack and support roles. His Mysterious Card ability gets unlocked at the level cap and provides a random effect when activated.

The screenshots also showcase new dungeons added to the remake, designed for high-level gameplay and the Buddy System. That’s also a new element that lets you unlock monsters and characters as companions by accumulating Buddy Points.

Various buddy chocobos will be provided in Japan as store-specific bonuses, while pre-ordering on the PlayStation Store will grant a PS4 theme and a set of avatars.

The game will launch on the Japanese shelves on March 20th, 2019 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. At the moment a western release date has not been announced, but we do know that it’s coming at some point next year.

Incidentally, gameplay will be showcased during the Square Enix Presents coverage from Jump Festa.

You can check out the screenshots and art below. If you want to see more, you can also enjoy a trailer from Tokyo Game Show.
