How to Scan the Environment in Spider-Man PS4
Here’s how to scan the environment in Spider-Man PS4.
As we all know, games borrow mechanics and more from each other and this industry isn’t alone in doing that. Books, movies, tv, comics and virtually anything else we consume all share a wealth of knowledge that betters every product overall. Spider-Man on PS4, being a video game, is no different. We know that Insomniac relied heavily on the swinging mechanics of the second game on PS2 as the developers have been very open about that.
And it won’t take long for players to see some Ubisoft inspiration in this new iteration of the web-slinging hero, specifically when scanning the environment. If you haven’t done that yet, we’ve got you covered.
In Assassin’s Creed Origins, you’re able to switch viewpoints to a bird for quite literally, a bird’s-eye view, which in a game where scoping out your next move is key, is extremely helpful. You’re able to lock-on to enemies to learn about their level, mark them for your human counterpart to see, discover treasure locations and more.
In Spider-Man PS4, you don’t have a bird in the air awaiting your commands, per se, but with some precise perching, you’ll be free to gain the same bird’s-eye view you’d get if you did happen to have a bird up above. Anyway, in this game, an eagle view is basically the same as scanning the environment.
To scan the environment, simply press R3 (click the right stick in). This will check out the environment around you, both below and above, and in turn will reveal to you key pieces of information about the area you’re in.
Like eagle view, scanning the environment will reveal to you enemy locations, highlight them for you, unveil collectible locations and point out to our hero any points of interest he should probably check out.
That does it for how to scan the environment in Spider-Man PS4! For more information on the game, be sure to check out our Spider-Man guide wiki where you’ll find tips, tricks, walkthroughs, and more.
