Today Atlus released its inevitable daily trailer of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing another of the elements that appear in the game.
This time around it isn’t against a demon, but about vending machines. Vending machines selling drinks (and at times food or more exotic products) are a common sight in Tokyo, where you can find them basically everywhere.
Specifically, the vending machine you can see in the trailer, which Ringo calls “Negociere” appears to be a parody of the “Acure” brand that has become rather popular in Japan, displaying drinks on a touch screen, with some models even able to “read” your face and suggest the drink that may be best for you depending on market research.
We also get the usual daily horoscope, with Aries being marked as the luckiest sign, while Capricorn is at the very bottom of the luck ranking. Looks like I need to be careful today.
You can check out the trailer below.
Soul Hackers 2 releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese launch on August 25.
You can check out the original trailer, plenty of screenshots, a second gallery, another trailer about Jack Frost, one about pizza, one focusing on Dormarth, one on Bugbear, one on Hare of Inaba, and one on Tsuchigumo, one on the convenience store Breaking Mart, one on Delamancha, one showing Vritra and more, one focusing on Kinmamon, one on Inugami, one on Mad Gasser, and one starring Mermaid.
Here’s how Atlus officially describes the game:
“Soul Hackers 2 inherits the essence of Devil Summoner: Soul Hacker, while evolving the game concept with a more defined art style, addictive RPG gameplay and ATLUS’s next-level storytelling. Set in the Shin Megami Tensei universe, Soul Hackers 2 follows a brand new story about two Agents of Aion, Ringo and Figure, and their fight to stop the destruction of the world.
Produced and directed by Eiji Ishida and Mitsuru Hirata, other featured staff includes music composed by MONACA, character designs by Shirow Miwa and Production Manager Shinjiro Takata,”
