Not all romances in the Mass Effect series were created equal, and Morinth’s is…an interesting one. If you’ve made your choice to get with this serial killer, and you’re certain about it, read on. She doesn’t join the crew until after Mass Effect 1, so here’s how to romance Morinth in Mass Effect 2 and 3.
How to Romance Morinth in Mass Effect 2
Morinth can be romanced by either a male or female Shepard just like her mother, Samara. Though, unlike Samara, you’ll be going full Renegade if you want to romance Morinth. She isn’t a regular crew member, so your chance to bring her aboard the Normandy and romance her will come during Samara’s loyalty mission, Samara: The Ardat-Yakshi.
During the mission, you’ll need to get Morinth’s attention by successfully completing three out of six available activities on Omega. Messing up on four of them will result in failing the mission. After getting through three of them, Morinth will invite you to chat. Choose dialogue options that make Shepard seem dangerous and confident to keep her interested.
She’ll eventually invite you into her apartment where Samara will appear just as Morinth tries to meld with your mind as all Asari do while mating. Samara then attempts to end Morinth’s life to put an end to her killing spree.
If you have enough Renegade points, you’ll be able to side with Morinth and kill Samara. This will provide a huge chunk of Renegade points for obvious reasons, and Morinth will disguise herself as her mother to take her place on your ship.
Speak to Morinth on the Normandy and she’ll suggest getting together right away. Complete any mission, then return to her again to lock in your questionable decision.
Morinth will try to convince you that you’re strong enough to survive joining minds with her, and you can choose to ignore the many warning signs. Choose “Yes” instead of “No thanks, I’d rather live,” and Morinth will dominate your mind, killing you.
After your wild night, reload and make sure that Morinth survives the Suicide Mission by picking her to be the Biotic Specialist. Doing so will allow her to make it to Mass Effect 3.
Continuing Romance With Morinth in Mass Effect 3
Morinth is no longer a regular member of the Normandy in Mass Effect 3, but she does send you a message and you do get a chance to see her again…sort of. Also, accepting the Kallini: Ardat-Yakshi Monastery mission allows you to read intercepted messages that Morinth sent to her sisters.
The next time you actually see her will be during the Priority: Earth main mission. Unfortunately (fortunately?), the Reapers will have turned her into Banshee and you’ll be forced to take her down.
