Biomutant’s Bizarre Post-Apocalypse Looks Serene in New “World” Trailer

Up until today, most of what we’ve seen from Experiment 101’s upcoming RPG, Biomutant, has painted its open-world as a place of chaotic action. This latest trailer, though, puts the spotlight on the quieter moments of what is very evidently an often peaceful and gorgeous wilderness.

Everything you see in the below sequence was captured in-game, from the chirping of birds to the vivid colors of Biomutant’s stunning vistas. It certainly looks like a sandbox that will be an absolute joy to explore and discover, especially given that there’s a Breath of the Wild-esque hand glider. All open-world games need hand gliders!

For more on Biomutant, you can read a recent excerpt from a larger interview that explains why the game has taken such a long time in development.

For those who would like to see a longer gameplay presentation of Biomutant then there’s a 30-minute sequence from back in 2019 that offers a better overview of the game’s premise and design here.

If you’re already sure you’re going to purchase Biomutant then you can also check out the various different special editions available for pre-order.

Biomutant is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 25, 2021.
