The game will also be launching on the Epic Games Store for PC on the same date, and is promoting free in-game items and coupons for linking an Epic Games account and downloading the game through the launcher.

Players who link an Epic Games account to their other Rocket League accounts from other platforms after the free to play launch will receive the Chopper EG Wheels, while logging into the game through the Epic Games account will receive the Sun Ray Boost and Hot Rocks Trail for free.

Epic Games, who acquired Psyonix last year, will also be offering a $10 coupon for its Epic Game Store for players who download the game through the store. The offer starts on Sept. 23 and ends on Oct. 23, and can be used on qualifying games or add-ons with a price of $14.99 or higher.

The game will release two paid item packs with the free to play launch, the Endo Starter Pack and Jager Pack, which include credits, a car, and various in-game items. Psyonix also teased a new Fortnite-themed in-game event “happening shortly after launch” called Llama-Rama.

The developer announced Rocket League would become free to play and launch on the Epic Games Store last July. It also announced that the game would be removed from the Steam store when it goes free to play, but Steam players would still be able to receive updates and play against other platforms.
