To be precise, it’s a rather special trailer. It basically reprodices a propaganda video for teh UEE Navy, as someone living in the Star Citizen universe would see it.

The only thing it’s missing is children stomping on bugs and saying that they’re doing their part.

Incidentally, this is pretty appropriate, as the Invictus Launch Week celebrates the beginning of the new year of recruitment for the navy.

You can watch it below, and check out some images released earlier today.

If you want to see the game in action on your own screen, it’s free to play for the next eleven days, including a large portion of its diverse fleet of ships.

On top of that, we also get a round-table Q&A with the developers about the event.

In other Star Citizen news the crowdfunding total  just recently passed 284 million.

To be more precise, it’s sitting on $284,702,820 (yes, it has literally made $400,000 in the 6 hours since my previous article) at the moment of this writing.

The number of registered accounts has also recently passed a milestone and it’s now at over 2.6 million (2,622,899).

As usual, it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons (including free fly events like the one going on now).

For the sake of full disclosure, the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago, so you should keep that in mind while reading this article.
