To celebrate the launch of season 5 of Apex Legends, a new content pack is currently available free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The image on the PlayStation Store listing features Gibraltar, so this is a nice gift for Gibby mains still searching for the perfect skin. While Apex Legends is the hot topic, you can find the accompanying patch notes here.
This Apex Legends pack comes with two weapon skins, two character skins, and two banners. Every skin/banner found in the pack is blue/rare, sadly legendary skins aren’t being handed out for free.
The two weapon skins are for the R-301 assault rifle and the Mastiff shotgun. The Mastiff received a major change and was removed from care packages for season 5. The shotgun can now be found as world loot with the Peacekeeper taking its place as a gold care package weapon.
The two skins are for Gibraltar (as expected) and Crypto.
Crypto received a buff in the Apex Legends season 5 update that lets him use his drone to ping enemy banners. Gibraltar received a small nerf as now his dome shield lasts only 12 seconds, down from original 18 seconds.
Finally, the two Apex Legends character banners are for, as you probably guessed, Gibraltar and Crypto.
As noted, you must be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to “purchase” this pack. It doesn’t need to be downloaded separately, once you own the pack the skins are applied to the game automatically.
If you are wondering what else might have changed in the new Season 5 of Apex Legends, we have gathered that for you here.
