This time around we get to see a scene representing a “lantern rite,” and it’s absolutely gorgeous, with the anime-like visuals of the game that really shine.

It’s worth mentioning that the video is marked as a spoiler. I honestly don’t know why as it just looks like a beautiful cutscene out of context, but it’s so awesome that maybe the developers intend that it could awe you if you see it for the first time in-context, in the game, so you can watch it at your own risk below.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you can read about the story below.

“You have arrived in Teyvat — a fantasy world where the seven elements flow and converge.

In the distant past, the Archons granted mortals unique elemental abilities. With the help of such powers, people formed a bountiful homeland out of the wilderness. However, 500 years ago, the collapse of an ancient civilization turned the universe upside down…
Though the calamity the world suffered has ceased, peace has yet to be restored.

You, as the main character, are a traveler drifted from another world who has awoken in this land. You will explore this wondrous world freely, make friends along the way, and look for “The Seven” — Archons of the seven elements. Every piece of your adventure will unearth something miraculous, and the lost will eventually be found.”

If you want to see more of Genshin Impact, you can enjoy another trailer from Chinajoy,  one from a few days ago,  the opening cutascene, and two trailers introducing Fischl. You can also read our recent hands-on preview.

The game is coming for PC, iOS, Android, PS4, and Swtch.

Recently, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida mentioned MiHoYo as an example of the momentum enjoyed by developers from Asia.
