Recently, Phil Spencer mentioned that he’s back in Japan to meet Japanese developers and publishers. Today, he added more details.
Spencer mentioned that he’s been talking to local third parties about Xbox Series X, Game Pass, and Project xCloud. On top of that, he’s been discussing E2 2020 and the future of gaming.
Of course, he also got to play both unannounced and announced games, as you can read in the tweet below.
The mention of E3 is especially interesting, as Spencer has been making a point of presenting Japanese games on stage at the show.
Last year, for instance, we got the announcement of Phantasy Star Online 2, which I’m sure pretty much no one saw coming. Well… If you did, I certainly didn’t.
Previously, Spencer has been to Japan back in March 2019, and he heads to the country periodically in order to see what Japanese developers and publishers are up to. It’ll be interesting to see if another big surprise will make its way west with an announcement at E3.
Incidentally, spencer recently promised to help bring Final Fantasy XIV to Xbox.
