hyper light drifter, the epic games store

The Epic Games Store is giving away one free game for 12 days in a row during this holiday season –oh, how nice of them! Today is day nine of the giveaway and the game that is free to download for all users is none other than Hyper Light Drifter, a top-down indie adventure game from the team over at Heart Machine.

Here’s a synopsis of the title straight from the listing on the storefront:

Echoes of a dark and violent past resonate throughout a savage land, steeped in treasure and blood. Hyper Light Drifter is an action-adventure RPG in the vein of the best 16bit classics, with modernized mechanics and designs on a much grander scale.”

You can head on over to the Epic Games Store launcher to give the game a try and to prepare yourself for the next game from the studio, Solar Ash Kingdom, which was revealed to be in development back in March of this year and seems to have a similar hyper-stylized world to explore.

Make sure to add Hyper Light Drifter to your library today as the promotional period will come to an end tomorrow morning (Dec. 28).

You can check out trailers for Solar Ash Kingdom and Hyper Light Drifter down below if you want to see what the games look like in action:

Hyper Light Drifter is now available on Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
