It’s actually pretty simple, as Twinfinite experienced during a preview event at Bandai Namco Entertainment’s headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo.

You can select Saitama only as the third character of your roster of three, and he’ll be fashionably late to the battle.

The screen features a counter showing his time of arrival, and he cannot be used until he reaches the battlefield.

If his allies fall before his arrival, the match is lost, so you effectively have only two characters possibly against three (unless Saitama is also on the other side). It’s a tradeoff to balance our hero’s power.

You can see how it works in the video below. Funnily, Saitama arrived so late that he literally finished the match with one punch.

If you want to see more, you can enjoy the original trailer from a few months ago, the first screenshots and artwork, the second character reveal, and another trailer from Gamescom.

One Punch Man: a Hero Nobody Knows doesn’t yet have a release window, but we already know it’ll be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
