Remedy’s new adventure game, Control, is coming out very soon and it marks the beginning of what looks to be a busy fall. So that you can jump into the game as soon as possible, here’s everything you need to know about what Control’s preload and unlock times are.
The Story of Control
Control is from the studio behind Quantum Break and Alan Wake, both of which were action-adventure games with a particular quirk or central gameplay mechanic.
You play as Jesse Faden, the new Director of the Bureau of Control, and you use powerful abilities to defeat the Hiss, which is an enemy who’s distorting reality in Jesse’s world.
Install Size
Before you set about preloading Control ahead of its release, if you’ve preordered it digitally, you should know that it will take up 34.75 GB if you’re playing on Xbox One, and likely around the same on other systems.
Control’s Preload & Unlock Times
As for when you’ll actually be able to start playing Control, you can preload the game right now on Xbox One. It’s not clear if you can do so if you’ve preordered it on PC or PS4, but we’ll update you here once we know.
Then, according to the US PSN Store, you will be able to start playing at 12 am ET on the day of release, which is Aug. 27.
It’s not clear whether that means 12 am (midnight) your local time or not, but that’s likely that case, with 12 am ET being Control’s unlock time across the US.
Most games release at 12 am local time, so it’s safe to assume it’s the same with Control if that’s correct for the US. We’ll let you know what the times are for other systems once they’re revealed.
That’s everything you need to know about what Control’s preload and unlock times are. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite, or check out our guide wiki.
