Square Enix has continued steady support of its hugely successful MMO Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) over the past couple of years, but Shadowbringers represents a whole new expansion of the experience. Players will have a new story, challenges, and updated gameplay mechanics to look forward to. Not all of the content is arriving at launch, though. Here’s what you need to know about how to start a new game plus playthrough of Shadowbringers.
How to Start New Game Plus in FFXIV Shadowbringers
Unfortunately, for anybody planning on rushing through the new expansion for a second new game plus playthrough, our advice is to hold your horses.
Indeed, you will have to wait a little bit longer to start a new game plus playthrough of Shadowbringers. Along with features like the anticipated Eden Raid, The Restoration of the Holy See of Ishgard and new game plus aren’t planned until that update.
While Shadowbringers launches July 2, Patch 5.0.1 is not coming until July 16. A subsequent patch, 5.0.5, is already lined up and scheduled to launch July 30, bringing a new difficulty mode to the Eden Raid, and presumably a host of various gameplay tweaks and bug fixes as well.
