Remedy’s Control Gets New Video Showing Destructible Environments and Dynamic Gameplay

Today Remedy Entertainment released a brand new video of its upcoming game Control.

The video has the game’s developers explain and showcase some of the dynamic elements that make the game a pretty unique experience.

One of the coolest features is the abundance of destructible elements in the environments, which let the player go wild in wreaking havoc across the game’s locations. Interestingly, this created an issue with relevant story-related items getting scattered around when the furniture hosting them was shattered, so at least those desks and tables won’t be destructible.

We also get to see how exploration is rewarded by finding different sidequests that aren’t exactly sprinkled directly on the beaten path, on top of some unique boss battles.

It appears that Remedy made a rather extensive effort in creating a world that reacts in many ways to the player’s actions. Despite the fact that this is challenging to the studio’s technology, they seem to have made great strides.

You can check out the video below. If you want to learn more, you can also enjoy our recent preview. You can also watch a previous video showcasing powers and guns.

Control is coming for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Aug. 27.
