Today Nihon Falcom had fairly surprising news to share about the Ys series: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is coming to mobile.
Not much was shared in terms of information, but Nihon Falcom signed a deal with Chinee publisher Linekong Entertainment Technology, which intends to release the game for iOS and Android worldwide.
Beijing-based Linekong Entertainment is known for supporting simultaneous worldwide releases as part of its core philosophy and publishes the mobile MMORPG Daybreak Legends: Origin.
At the moment, no release window has been mentioned, and pricing information has not been announced.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana debuted for PS Vita in Japan in 2016, followed by PS4 in 2017. 2017 also saw the western debut on both platforms simultaneously, followed by launches on PC and Switch in 2018.
It sold over 500,000 copies worldwide and it features an interesting point of view switch between traditional Ys hero Adol Christin and the beautiful Dana.

This isn’t the only Ys news released today, as Nihon Falcom also launched a new trailer of the PS4 version of Ys: Memories of Celceta. The studio is also working on Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.
