Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation Gets Mysterious New Girl Nagisa

Last night’s Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation maintenance brought a surprise to the fans of the free-to-play DOA spinoff, in the form of a brand new character: Nagisa.

A new gacha appeared with the game, publicizing a new girl, without actually revealing her identity. Players had to take the plunge and give it a try if they wanted a chance at her. What you see below (courtesy of YouTube user Toda Erica TM Venus Vacation in Japan) is the result.

You can also check out the video of her SSR costume unlock, but do keep in mind that this one is not safe for work.

The new waifu is named Nagisa, and she is Misaki’s older sister. Apparently, she was worried about Misaki setting out on her own to get a new job, so she decided to join her. Yet, when she meets the island’s owner (IE: the player) she is less than pleased. That’s not exactly an unnatural reaction when you see your younger sister call a random dude “owner,” mind you.

She is basically your by-the-book tsundere stereotype, who I guess was pretty much missing in Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation thus far.

Do keep in mind that like all new girls, she is behind a paywall for now. Her gacha is available exclusively for 5,000 paid V-stones, and she won’t be free for a while. This means that if you really want her, you’re likely to have to drop a lot of money on the game, considering the ludicrous unlock percentage of 0.77%.

Personally, I advise for the sake of your sanity to hold off on trying your luck. In Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation, new heroines become available in free gacha after a few months, so there is no need to spend so much money right now unless you’re really in a hurry for some reason. The good news is that Nagisa’s introduction probably means that the previously released Fiona should soon be included in free gacha for those who resisted the temptation until now.

Incidentally, if you’re not familiar with Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation, it’s available exclusively for PC only at the moment, and only in Japanese. It’s worth mentioning that the maintenance did not remove the ongoing Christmas event.

Funnily, Dead or Alive 6 Director Yohei Shimbori mentioned once that DOAXVV’s new girls wouldn’t be included in the fighting game because they’re not fighters, but Nagisa does look like she could be adept at beating people up. She might also be the mysterious new heroine set to appear in Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet. We’ll have to wait and see about that.
