Sega has released a new trailer for Valkyria Chronicles 4, showing off a number of new features arriving to the series with the new game. While Valkyria Chronicles 4 does use the tried and true combat system found in the main series, there are a number of new features and enhancements coming.
First and foremost is the addition of a brand new character class, The Grenadier. This class lets you launch explosives from a range, decimating enemies without having to get too close. The trailer shows off a bit of Grenadier gameplay, while also detailing how you can dodge enemy grenades as you run.
When your units die in combat, a new “Last Stand” system can inspire them to stand back up and keep up the fight. At the same time if you’re finding yourself overwhelmed by the enemy’s numbers, you can call the Centurion for a bit of artillery support to help thin them. Take a look at the full features trailer down below.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 launches on Sept. 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A free demo for the game is currently available on all systems besides PC, and you can see the nostalgic opening of the game right here.
