Retro Stranger Things Mobile Game Announced by Netflix, Out Today

Netflix and the indie developer BonusXP have announced Stranger Things: The Game, which sports a SNES-like graphical style aqnd surprisingly is out today on iOS and Android. It’s a retro throwback title that evokes a lot of the same feelings as classic Zelda games, or LucasArts adventure titles. The mobile game releases just ahead of the second season of Stranger Things, which hits Netflix on October 27.

Based on the trailer for the game, it looks like different characters from the show will have different abilities. There also seems to be a variety of gameplay elements including car chases, stealth segments, sewer exploration, and combat. Even better, Stranger Things: The Game is available completely for free and there’s no microtransactions to be found. Of course if you haven’t watched season 1 of the show you might want to get on that, as you won’t understand much going on. Take a look at the full trailer down below.
