Halo fans have something new to look forward to in the near future. Microsoft has just announced a new “mixed-reality” project set in the Halo universe, and it’s called Halo: Recruit.
It’s only a five-minute endeavor, but it’s been described as a “fun little arcade experience.” Supposedly it’ll feature much-loved characters we’ve seen before who are integral to the Halo experience, likely Master Chief and characters of that ilk, as well as familiar weaponry and even the Warthog, as described by 343 Industries in a recent blog post. You’ll even be able to size up an Elite and see which one of you is the most threatening.
The project will be available for free on the Windows Store to test out, but you’ll have to have a special Windows Mixed Reality headset to give it a go. It’ll be available on October 17 to download, though you can go ahead and preorder a headset for use with the project now. Otherwise, you can hit up a Microsoft Store to give it a try without breaking the bank for a headset.
According to 343 Industries’ Kiki Wolfkill, there could be additional Halo experiences utilizing the mixed reality gear, so that’s something to look forward to. Sounds like Halo fans will definitely want to give Halo: Recruit a try.
