The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Glitch Turns off Link’s Cel-Shading

Shiny Link is creepy.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was praised for its cel-shaded art style, but one player has found a particular spot in Hyrule’s map that strips Link of the effect. Reddit user Rangers_of_the_North found the glitch while hunting for Korok Seeds on the bridge over Lake Hylia.

“On the left side of the gate there is a broken concave section that I rested at. While zooming in to get a better look, I saw that Link’s look has completely changed!” the user wrote in the game’s subreddit. “He looks like a doll, he has a shine to him and the shadows on his body became realistic. Other things changed too, fire enchanted weapons, bombs, even Fierce Deity armor have altered looks.”

Other users in the Reddit thread tested the exact spot and found the same result. Check out the thread for more examples of this glitch. One player even tested with the Zora armor and discovered how toned Link’s abs were through the armor, shown below.
