Like just about every other multiplayer game these days, WB and Netherrealm’s Injustice 2 will come with skins to dress the costumed heroes of the DC universe in. However, instead of being the customizable pieces of armor you’ve seen in trailers, these are fully blown Premiere Skins that make the characters look completely different. For example, the Flash’s will turn him into Eobard Thawne, aka the Reverse Flash. (TV watchers will recognize him as the lead villain in this previous season of Legends of Tomorrow.) Supergirl’s, meanwhile, has her dress like Power Girl, who is…kinda complicated to explain, but is basically the Girl of Steel’s evil twin. You can see them both below.
And then there’s Green Lantern. In the DC comics, there are currently six of them, and four have been accounted for in this universe. (The two most recent, Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz, have yet to appear in the comics or be mentioned in the games.) John Stewart, the only black Green Lantern, was killed during the events of the Injustice comic, and he’s also one of the Premiere Skins you get when you pre-order Injustice 2’s $100 Ultimate Edition. And here, he…looks real similar to esteemed B-list actor Lance Reddick, right?
Yeah, they really do look a lot alike. Maybe Netherrealm thinks Lance Reddick would be a good fit for John in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie, or he could be voicing his skin in the game. Guess we won’t know until Injustice 2 arrives next week on the PS4 and Xbox One.
