Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is having its first in-game seasonal event celebrating St. Patrick’s Day beginning today until April 3, Activision announced.
The “Operation Shamrock and Awe” event adds themed Supply Drops during the event, and players can receive three for free by simply logging in. The announcement notes players will receive one drop per week, and must check in and download each week because they do not stack.
The multiplayer map Downpour receives a makeover during the event, called Daybreak, changing its drab weather to sunlight, rainbows, and St. Patrick’s Day decorations. Completing in-game challenges on the map unlocks two exclusive holiday weapon camos. Daybreak is free and only available to play during the event.
Additionally, players who complete each of the three new themed collections full of reticles, camos, calling cards, and emblems can earn a new character, a Shillelagh melee weapon, and a unique calling card. Completing all three collections unlocks Darren “Graves” Cosgrave as a playable character, but can only be earned during the event.
In recent news, the Variety Map Pack DLC for Modern Warfare Remastered is releasing March 21 for PlayStation 4 with Xbox One and PC coming “at a later date.” The map pack contains four updated maps from the 2007 original and 10 Rare Supply Drops for $14.99.
