As a late holiday present, Wii U owners can look forward to the Nintendo 64 classic Mario Kart 64 arriving Dec. 29 to the platform via virtual console.
Nintendo’s virtual console service takes popular games from past consoles like the NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64 and supports them on next-gen consoles. In January 2007, Mario Kart 64 released on the Wii via virtual console, and then to the Wii U in Europe back in January of this year.
Now North Americans can take their turn trying out the 1996 classic with up to four players using either the Wii U GamePad, Pro Controller, Wii Classic Controller, or Wii Remote Plus.
Priced at $9.99, you can check out more info on Mario Kart 64’s virtual console release on its listing here.
