Nintendo May Have Just Hinted at New Mario Kart 8 DLC

If we get DLC Pack 3, we'll be good all year. We promise.

Patience is a virtue, and Mario Kart 8 fans have been very patient. After Mario Kart 8 received several major DLC packs over the last couple of years, the gaming world was aglow with excellent new content to enjoy, but you can never have too much of a good thing. Since the second and seemingly final DLC pack released for the racing game in Spring of 2015, Nintendo hasn’t said a single word about bringing any more content to the game, however, one cryptic tweet may suggest otherwise:

Nintendo of Europe tweeted out a screenshot of a notorious railroad from the Kalimari Desert track in Mario Kart 64. The “Good things come to those who wait,” fits perfectly here, as that’s exactly what unlucky players had to do, whenever the train would get in their way. Fine. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Although, why is there a Mario Kart 8 tag in the tweet?

In all this time, Nintendo has neither confirmed nor denied bringing any new DLC to Mario Kart 8, so the tag may be implying that they’ve been cooking up new content right under our noses all along. We’ve waited, and we’re ready.

Nintendo is no stranger to pulling a Beyoncé and releasing content out of blue, such as when they magically pulled a Ryu out of a hat, randomly telling the world the famous Street Fighter character was arriving to Super Smash Bros. that very day. With E3 2016 right around the corner, anything is possible. With Mario Kart 8 remaining the top-selling and one of the most critically acclaimed Wii U titles, the world is overdue for a new reason to hit the track.
