This Fan-Made Master Chief Smash Victory Pose ft. Hat Kid Has Us Feeling a Type of Way

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The anticipation is building around 1: when the inevitable January Nintendo Direct will happen as it will almost certainly have details on the last Fighter Pass character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is scheduled to come out sometime in February 2020 but also 2: who will that character be?

Your guess is as good as ours. 2020 is unofficially the Year of Waluigi and there have been cryptic hints and sketchy rumors about Waluigi finally having his Kelly Clarkson moment and appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

But honestly, your guess/wish is as good as ours until Nintendo says something official about the last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter, so why not dream right?

Master Chief’s name has been thrown around a bunch as a potential fit and this Twitter user by the name of Nova has put together a victory pose.

OK awesome but also peep that Hat Kid cameo there at the bottom which is another name that gets thrown around, and another fighter I would 1000% be there for.

The only thing that concerns me about a potential Master Chief bid is that Microsoft already got in there once with Banjo-Kazooie (which is a great fit by the way, no complaints OBVIOUSLY). Would Nintendo let Microsoft double dip? Nintendo would probably want to let a different company get in on the action if they aren’t going to go first-party, so I have my doubts.

But once again, until the “January Direct” happens, don’t let your memes be dreams.
