Call of Duty Warzone 2

Gear Up Soldiers, Call of Duty Warzone 2 Has Dropped Early

It's time to drop into Al Mazrah and try out the new DMZ mode in COD Warzone 2.0.

Today Activision has made the new iteration of Call of Duty’s popular free-to-play battle royale mode Warzone available to everyone.

While the mode was supposed to launch at 10:00 a.m. PST, it went live about 40 minutes earlier. It may not be a massive push forward, but it’s certainly better than nothing, especially considering how many fans have been chomping at the bit.

On top of Warzone 2.0’s core Battle Royale playlists, players can enjoy the brand-new DMZ mode, which offers a completely new experience.

Specifically, players will be able to engage in this 66-people open-world experience by setting their own goals in a semi-freeform way, taking on objectives from three different factions that can be leveled up, accepting contracts for additional experience, and unlocking and exploring locked areas for loot.

Of course, daring players can still go after other operators and loot them instead, while others may decide to play it safe and focus on the AI until they can achieve their exfiltration.

Another innovation is the third-person playlist, which lets you enjoy the game with the camera locked behind your operator. You can even select whether you’d like to aim over the left or right shoulder, adding a new dimension to the Warzone experience.

The Gulag has changed as well, now focusing on a duo experience that even includes a jailer NPC to add tension and speed things up. Players can either try to eliminate the other duo or team up to kill the jailer to let everyone get away scot-free.

All you have to do is to download Warzone for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, or PS4 for free, and find out if you can survive the dangers of Al Mazrah, whether they’re from other players or the AI.

In case you miss the old Warzone, it’ll come back as  Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera as a separate experience on Nov. 28 at 10:00 a.m. PST.
