Yesterday, the popular killing game Yandere Simulator received a substantial update including a brand new “1980s Mode;” Today, a new video has been released.

The video shows and tells pretty much everything there is to know about the new mode, which is a prequel of the main game, set in 1989 and starring Ayano’s mother Ryoba Aishi.

We hear that the developer has made efforts to create a full-fledged story mode with everything you’d expect, on top of quite a bit of extra content and even features that were cut or discarded for the main mode, like the Yakuza.

The main reason for the existence of this mode is to provide a fully-developed gameplay loop that players can test and provide feedback on.

This means that there are ten rivals to be killed or otherwise eliminated in ten weeks, and plenty of interesting aspects to play with.

You can watch the video below, and download the work-in-progress version of the game for PC from the official website for free.

Proud weeb hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long-standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
