Fans of the wise-cracking decapitated head Mimir from God of War may be happily surprised to learn the character’s voice actor also provided the narration for the recently released novelization.
Following the audio book’s release on Aug. 28, it was discovered Alastair Duncan, the vocal performer behind the undying companion to Kratos and Atreus in their quest to scatter the ashes of their wife and mother respectively, also provides the narration for the novelized version of their adventures. Listeners can lose themselves in his dulcet tones for the duration of the nearly 10 hour retelling of the game’s events, reliving his sarcasm and light-hearted banter as if they were playing the game all over again.
The audio book is currently available for $9.99 on ebook, $9.95 on Amazon and $12.22 on Google Play. A paperback version is also available for $14.95, though this will come sans any return performances by Duncan outside of your own imagination.
Released Apr. 20, 2018, God of War is the latest entry in the God of War franchise. The game received heavy praise from fans and critics alike for its reimagining of Kratos as compared to his portrayal in the original trilogy, as well as its redesigned gameplay and new setting based on Norse mythology.
