Lavender Town Let's Go

This New Pokemon Let’s Go Trailer for Lavender Town is Halloween Perfection

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

There’s just something uneasy and ominous about the Lavender Town theme in the original Pokemon games. Whether you believe the urban legends about the song or not, it’s creepy regardless.

Of course then, Nintendo has wisely held the first look at Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee take on the iconic Pokemon location until just before Halloween.

While purists will insist that the simpler version of the Lavender Town theme song is the scariest, and they are right, I have to say, this new version is pretty dang good too.

While it loses the original’s unsettling tone, the Let’s Go version has a grander and more sophisticated tune to it. It’s more emotional sounding if that makes any sense. I’m not our resident music expert, Zhi, but I know a good video game song when I hear it.

Also, can we comment on how lovely and bright the colors look in this game? That purple mist suits Lavender Town very well.

Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee will release on the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 16. Thanks to Serebii.net for putting together the video from the official Japanese Twitter account for the game.
