This Fan-Made Wes Anderson-Inspired Animal Crossing Movie Trailer Is Actually Brilliant

At this point, we all already know that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is basically a well for creativity. From decorating your own houses and furnishing them to make them look like iconic locations from other video games, to decorating the entire island and giving it a unique theme, this game has no shortage of beautiful creations from the player base. The gameplay itself can also be used to create interesting footage, like this fan-made movie trailer that, quite frankly, looks pretty brilliant.

YouTuber Evil Imp stitched together clips of gameplay from Animal Crossing to create a trailer for a made up movie named Pocket Camp, named after the mobile game. You can check out the trailer for yourself down below.

Essentially, this fake movie follows a boy and girl who decide to run away together, and their absence causes chaos in the lives they’ve left behind. The trailer is cut and edited with appropriate upbeat music that very much suits the vibe of Wes Anderson movies like The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore, and it’s perfect.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
