The Pokemon Twitter Account Is Teasing… a Team Rocket Clothing Line

Represent Team Rocket while staying comfortable.

At first glance, it seems that the official Pokemon Center Twitter account might be facing a little trouble from a certain crime syndicate. Up to their usual nefarious tricks, this takeover is bringing a Team Rocket clothing line to the Pokemon merchandise shop. The whole line is referred to as the Team Rocket HQ Collection. If you want to casually rep one of anime and gaming’s most notorious gangs, here’s your opportunity.

It all started with a tweeted video that revealed a critical malfunction before showing the vibrant ‘R.’ Up to their expected dirty tactics, it appears they are on some recruitment kick and want to spread their influence. To the credit of this merchandise, there’s no better way to show your true affiliations while playing Pokemon GO in public.

A press release from the Pokemon Center describes the apparel line as a “trendy streetwear-inspired collection” that “brings the infamous Team Rocket to life featuring relaxed fits, unisex silhouettes, and utilitarian details.”

As you might expect, all clothing is marked with the iconic red R. If you feel comfortable flying the colors of Ash Ketchum’s main nemeses, there is a bonus gift. Any eligible orders over $149.99 made before June 23 will include a Team Rocket mug.

However, if you think this collection might let you dress up as Jesse or James, that’s not quite the idea. The “streetwear” aspect of this clothing line means you can expect hoodies and sweatpants rather than costumes. If you’d like to balance it out, there is obviously also plenty of Pokemon-adorned clothing to find.
