The Last of Us Part II Director Teases “Complicated and Heart Wrenching Scene”

Today The Last of Us Part II Creative Director Neil Druckmann shared a treat on Twitter for fans of the franchise.

In a picture from the performance capture scene, we get to see Ellie’s actress Ashley Johnson playing the guitar in front of Shannon Woodward, who plays Ellie’s lover Dina.

At the moment we don’t know much about the content of the scene, but Druckmann teased it as “one of the most complicated and heart-wrenching scenes” Naughty Dog has ever worked on.

My personal speculation is that the scene deals with Joel’s fate, which at the moment is still completely wrapped in mystery. That being said, that’s just my gut feeling so take it with the customary grain of salt.

Unfortunately, we haven’t seen much of the game since the latest reveal at E3 2018, but earlier today Sony Interactive Entertainment released a brand new dynamic theme dedicated to the game and a two-hour-long video showing the same scene with a burning car. That’s Naughty Dog’s humorous (and fairly dark) take on a Yule Log for the Holidays.

The Last of Us Part II is coming exclusively for PS4 but doesn’t yet have an official release window for the moment.
