The trailer is rather extensive, showing off a bunch of cutscenes and plenty of gameplay features, from the battle system to the character menus, costumes, and accessories.

If you don’t know what Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is all about, it’s the upcoming remaster for modern platforms of the classic JRPG Tales of Vesperia by Bandai Namco. The original game is considered by a large portion of the fanbase one of the best of the series and it was released first as a temporary exclusive for Xbox 360 in 2008. It was part of Microsoft’s plan to conquer a foothold in Japan by bringing forth a set of strong JRPG exclusives. While the plan didn’t work, it sparked quite a few good games.

At the end of 2009, Tales of Vesperia was finally released for PS3 as well with brand new content including new playable characters. Unfortunately, this version was never published in English for reasons that have never been revealed, The Definitive Edition is the first time North American and European audiences are able to enjoy the new content without needing to play the game in Japanese.

You can check the video below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy some recent screenshots showing the DLC content which are included, another gallery of screenshots showing the battle system, and a video from Tokyo Game Show.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will launch worldwide on January 11th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
