Steam Summer Sale 2019 is in full swing, and this year’s accompanying event just got beefed up with the announcement of new Qualifier Tasks.
The Steam Summer Sale Grand Prix has been a frustrating and confusing event so far, as you can immediately see over at the /r/Steam subreddit, and Valve’s recent action to add a new way for participants to increase their max points may be an effort to alleviate that.
If you’ve yet to participate, the Steam Summer Sale Grand Prix requires participants to select a team (out of Team Cockatiel, Team Corgi, Team Hare, Team Pig, and Team Tortoise) and contribute towards that team’s daily race placement by purchasing Steam games, completing achievements, and spending the points accrued.
Details surrounding the Nitro Boost and max points mechanics of the event have been incredibly hazy, and Steam fans all across social media can be found calling them out over complications.
Nonetheless, Valve announced today that everyone can increase their max points by 500 through completing a set of Qualifier Tasks.
We've added new Qualifier tasks to the Steam Grand Prix – each completed task increases your max points, enabling you to complete quests and claim Achievements!
