Today Vespa released the first trailer of the upcoming mobile JRPG Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness.
The trailer showcases both anime cutscenes and work-in-progress gameplay footage, also showing that the gameplay itself appears to be rather classic in its nature.
According to the developer, Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness will feature two new protagonists and heroes gathering together from across time and space.
You can check the trailer out below.
The game was announced a few days ago and it’s coming for iOS and Android in 2022, including North America and Europe. That being said, the trailer is available only in Japanese and Korean for now.
The Shining JRPG series by Sega debuted all the way back in 1991 on Mega Drive with Shining in the Darkness, which was actually localized for both North America and Europe in the same year.
The franchise has changed considerably throughout its history, and its latest JRPG Shining Resonance released in 2014. Its remaster Shining Resonance Refrain brought Shining back to the west after a long hiatus in 2018.
Sega has yet to announce any new games for the franchise since. Hopefully, we’ll hear something about it soon.
