Before today, the developer has been extremely cagey about the game before today, only providing small glimpses of what was to come.

Finally, we get to see exactly what the game looks like and take a look at the characters.

Of course, the familiar JRPG-meets-live/farming simulator mechanics are back, and you can still choose a male or female hero, while finding a mate to settle with.

We also get to take a look at what appears to be an animated opening cutscene providing a different look at the cast.

There’s fishing, a new battle system featuring combo attacks, and a massive airship with integrated orchard.

The game doesn’t yet have a release date, but we know it’ll come to Nintendo Switch in 2021.

You can check out the trailer below and see if it gets you excited for this new Rune Factory game.

If you’re interested in the series and don’t want to wait, Rune Factory 4 Special (also for Nintendo Switch) has recently hit the shelves.

It’ll unlock some bonuses for Rune Factory 5 when it launches, so may as well get a head start.

He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
