The Pokemon Company has just announced that the Jan. 12 community day will make finding Totodiles much easier. For three hours during the community day, the Water-type Pokemon will appear much more often for all players. Additionally, while the event is happening, lures will last for three hours and Incubators will hatch eggs four times faster.
For anyone unfamiliar with Totodile, it is a Water-type Pokemon that was one of the three available starters from the Generation II games. It has two evolutions and will change into a Croconaw and then to a Feraligatr.
Trainers who can take advantage of the abundance of Totodiles, and evolve one of their new Pokemon up to a Feraligatr, are in for a special treat. It was announced was that any Croconaws that evolve into Feraligatrs during the event will learn the Water-type move Hydro Cannon. Feraligatrs will only be able to learn Hydro Cannon if they are caught or evolved during community day.
Players should also be aware that the overall increase to the number of Totodiles will raise the chance of seeing a shiny version of the Pokemon. Shiny Totodiles have an overall green color and purple spikes instead of the standard blue with red spikes.
