Questions have been raised by many about Sony Interactive Entertainment’s attention to the Japanese gaming industry.
Today, in an interview on Famitsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan talked about that.
“I’m really happy and proud about the PS Studios titles released by our Worldwide Studios. Some have already been announced and we’re preparing to reveal more.
Also, SIE has a deep relationship with Japanese licensees, so we will continue to strengthen that cooperation in the future and we also want to develop titles made in Japan for PlayStation Fans around the world.”
In the same interview, Ryan mentioned that he can’t comment for now about the next game by Sony’s Japan Studio, but Astro’s Playroom by Team Asobi was very good, and he believes he can talk more about this at a later time.
Incidentally, Astro’s Playroom is also Ryan’s personal favorite among the games released for PS5 so far.
We also hear that the utilization rate of PS5 is very high and already above that of PS4, which leads Sony to believe that users of the new console are satisfied.
On top of that, the ratio of sales of digital download versions of games is steadily increasing compared to physical games not only in Japan, but worldwide.
