Doomfist, the newest playable character in Blizzard’s Overwatch, could be getting a nerf. As was first noticed by Reddit user byboomstick, Blizzard has shrunken the hitbox for Doomfist’s Rocket Punch on Overwatch’s public testing realm (PTR).

Doomfist’s rocket punch ability has a forgiving hitbox in Overwatch’s live servers, allowing players to deal area of effect damage without needing to line the punch up with 100 percent accuracy. On the PTR, however, the hitbox is now noticeably thinner, as seen in this gif.

The rocket punch ability has only a four-second cooldown and deals significant damage, so its popularity has surged since Doomfist’s release on July 27. The PTR nerf doesn’t affect the move’s cooldown or damage output, but it will at least require players spend a little bit more time lining up their attacks if they want to deal any damage, giving opposing players a window of opportunity to deal damage themselves or avoid the punch.

Though some fans are upset by the nerf, the majority seem to be in favor of it.

PC Overwatch players can test the nerf out for themselves right now on the PTR and make their own judgments.
