Mega Evolution, Galarian Farfetch’d, & More Coming to Pokemon Go

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier this morning, the Pokemon Presents stream revealed new Pokemon, Mega Evolutions, and items coming to Pokemon GO. Two of them are out now and one is still in the works.

As of right now, you should be able to find Galarian Farfetch’d just about anywhere in the wild. This is the first time that Farfetched will be available in the wild outside of Asia.

We’ll have to get out there and catch a few to see if it can evolve into Sirfetch’d. But if it’s anything like the other Galarian forms, then you should be able to evolve Galarian Farfetch’d in Pokemon GO.

Just make sure that you get out into the wild quickly because this special form won’t be so easily available forever. The Pokemon GO Team revealed that Galarian Farfetch’d won’t be everywhere starting tomorrow, June 18 at 6 AM PT. Make sure you use your Pinap Berries wisely.

There will also be new cosmetic items you can purchase for your trainer that are based on this leek-wielding Pokemon. And to tie in with the Sword & Shield Isle of Armor DLC, you can also get free avatar items. This outfit has a striking yellow and black color scheme to match the logo of the add-on.

Finally, after years of fans asking for it, Mega Evolutions are coming to Pokemon GO. The short trailer showed the unmistakable mega evolution animation, cut to black, and displayed the year 2020. There’s no set month yet, but it’s at least nice to get confirmation that Mega Evolutions are finally coming this year.
