Limited Run Games to Produce Physical Copies of Divinity: Original Sin 2

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the best RPGs on the market. It is an exemplary title that, thanks to black magic, runs pretty well on the Nintendo Switch. However, Original Sin 2 is currently digital only on the Switch, a problem Limited Run Games is ready to solve.

Earlier today, Divinity: Original Sin 2 developer Larian Studios took to Twitter and announced a partnership with Limited Run Games. The companies will produce physical copies of Original Sin 2 for the Switch. Not only will the game cartridges free up some much needed internal storage/micro SD card space (the game takes up 10.5 GB when downloaded digitally), they will also include some neat extras.

The physical copy will come with a massive 52-page manual (a rarity these days), as well as all of Original Sin 2’s free DLC. This will include Beauty Salon, Song of Nature, and Order & Magic.

While physical copies aren’t available just yet, Limited Run Games has opened the floodgates for pre-orders. Until January 3rd, you can purchase Divinity: Original Sin 2 from the Limited Run Games store for $59.99 —slightly more expensive than the digital version’s $49.99 price tag. However, orders will not ship until several months after the pre-order window closes, and purchases cannot be canceled.

If you are on the fence about pre-ordering a physical copy, though, you might be able to pick one up at Best Buy. Better yet, copies sold through Best Buy will include alternate cover art. However, the company could potentially not go through with its order, so if you want a Divinity: Original Sin 2 game cartridge, you might need to pre-order.

Whether or not you buy Limited Run Games’ physical copy, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is still one of if not the best RPGs available on the Nintendo Switch and deserves to be played.
