Following today’s reveal at The Game Awards, the Japanese arm of Sony Interactive Entertainment released the Japanese version of the trailer.

Luckily, it doesn’t just come with subtitles, but it’s actually fully voiced in Japanese (excluding the voices of the Mongol soldiers).

It sounds awesome, and it feels like watching one of those awesome samurai movies by Akira Kurosawa or Yoji Yamada.

Luckily, we already know that the game will include Japanese voice overs as an option for the west as well, as confirmed by Sucker Punch a while ago.

You can check out the trailer below and see (or hear) what I mean.

Incidentally, the PlayStation Blog also revealed the box artwork and key art, which you can also enjoy under the video.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, here’s an official description.

“The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan—until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back.

But honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting—the way of the Ghost—as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.”

Ghost of Tsushima was announced in 2017 at Paris Games Week and today we learned that it’ll be released in Summer 2020, exclusively for PS4.
