Producer Yoshinori Kitase was the original director of Final Fantasy VII, and the publisher released an extensive video interview in which Kitase-san is quizzed by popular pro-wrestler Kenny Omega.

We get to hear about the inspiration behind quite a few interesting elements of the game, including the way Sephiroth works as a villain, inspired by the filk Jaws.

Interestingly, Kitase-san — who loves first-person shooters —  likes to play PUBG and also plays APEX Legends with his sons, but he isn’t into Fortnite.

If you don’t know Kenny Omega, he’s a well-known pro-wrestler operating in Japan. He’s also a big gamer and Final Fantasy fan, so much that his stage name is inspired by the Omega Weapon and one of his iconic movies is named “One-Winged Angel.”

If you’d like to see and learn more about the game itself, you can play the demo released recently. The full game has gone gold, and we have an extensive hands-on-preview for your perusal.

You can also enjoy the opening cutscene, the latest screenshotsthe previous, spectacular trailer that revealed Red XIIIanother large batch of screenshots, and the trailer from The Game Awards.

The first game of the Final Fantasy VII Remake will launch on PS4 on April 10, 2020.

We recently learned that the game will be a PS4 exclusive only since April 10, 2021. After that, it could come to other platforms, even if nothing has been officially confirmed by Square Enix yet besides the date.
