The popular third-person MOBA Smite has launched on Nintendo Switch today as a free-to-play experience that supports crossplay and doesn’t require any Nintendo Online membership to play, developer Hi-Rez Studios has announced in a press release to Twinfinite.

Smite was originally confirmed for release on the console late last year after plenty of rumors and speculation, but the free-to-play model hadn’t been made public until recently.

The Switch marks the fifth platform Smite has been made available for since its initial PC launch back in 2014, which has now been enjoyed by over 30 million players and supports a thriving esports scene.

While you won’t be able to play Smite against PS4 users, there is crossplay and cross-progression supported between Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. Players will be able to play with and against each other on the Battleground of the Gods. Additionally, when players link their accounts, they will be able to use their unlocked Gods, skins, and progression across all currently supported platforms.

You can also expect relative parity when it comes to technical performance, too, as Hi-Rez has also confirmed the game runs at a smooth 60fps.
