The Epic Games Store has had a rocky start to say the least. Fans of PC gaming have been at odds with the service for its lack of features, exclusive partnerships, and weak community integration.
In order to combat that, Epic has announced today that they are adding more games to its cloud save system, keyless Humble Bundle integration, and more to the client in a future update.
Some of the games being added to support cloud saves are Alan Wake, Darksiders III, Enter the Gungeon, Hyperlight Drifter, Rebel Galaxy Outlaws and more. You can see the full list of games added to the system on the Epic Games website.
Also included in this update is Humble Bundle Keyless Integration. This lets you to link your Epic Games Store account to the Humble Bundle store, allowing you to purchase games directly from Humble Bundle without requiring a redemption key.
You can enable this feature by logging into your Humble Bundle account and heading to the “Settings” option. From there, you can link your Epic Games account so that any future purchases will automatically appear in the Epic Games Client.
Epic Games has also improved their product pages in this update as well, giving the store pages for games more in-depth descriptions, release date information, and more in-game images and videos similar to how Steam handles their store pages.
This allows for better curation and helps gamers make better purchasing decisions without having to leave the Epic Games Store ecosystem.
Epic also teased what is coming in the future, this includes rolling out a new design for the game library that will allow you to display your games in a “list view”, making it easier to see all of your games on screen at once. This list will also include a “playtime” counter, allowing players to see how much time they have poured into a particular title.
Although the Epic Games Store is still controversial among some fans, they have been making small steps towards getting their client up to par with the likes of Steam and other digital game distribution services.
Be sure to check out the new Epic Games Store update when it launches this month!
