Today, during the first day of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour finals in Paris, Producer Tomoko Hiroki announced changes coming with the game’s Season 3.

First of all, she mentioned the “Z Assist Select” allowing players to select a character’s assist attack.

Each character will have three assist attacks, facilitating new ways to connect combos and build strategies in-game.

We’re also getting adjustments to balance with the objective of encouraging players to use different characters, allowing them to express their individual personality with the characters they choose, instead of having to do so for practical reasons.

On top of that, the team is also working to avoid one-sided fights caused by specific powerful attacks and combinations, and to allow players to turn the tables even if they have only one character left.

While nothing has been set in stone, the developers are considering making adjustments after the season has begun if necessary, but this should come in one big update instead of several small adjustments.

The UI will also be changed and new modes will be added to provide players with a fresh experience.

Incidentally, tomorrow we can expect a bigger announcement about Season 3 (including the reveal of Ultra Instinct Goku). You can check out the lineup for the semi-finals.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
